304/316 Stainless Steel Storage Tank

Stainless steel water tank is a water storage device made of 304/316 stainless steel plates through processes such as stamping, welding and polishing. It has the remarkable advantages of light weight, high strength, sanitary cleanliness and corrosion resistance, and is an upgraded alternative to traditional fiberglass and concrete water tanks. Classified by structure, the tank includes vertical round, horizontal round and square assembled types, with customizable capacity and size according to requirements. Introduce the basic functions of the product



1. Multi-media safe water storage 


Made of food-grade 304/316 stainless steel, it can safely store drinking water, food processing liquids, and pharmaceutical purified water. It is also suitable for industrial circulating water, fire-fighting backup water, and other media. The smooth inner wall prevents impurities from falling off, thus eliminating secondary pollution of water bodies.


2. Corrosion-resistant and long-lasting protection 


It has excellent corrosion and rust resistance, can withstand weak acid and alkali and humid environments, and is suitable for special scenarios such as coastal high salt spray areas and chemical plant areas. Compared with fiberglass and concrete water tanks, its service life is extended by 5 to 10 years.


3. Flexible expansion and customization 


It supports modular combination and size customization, with various structures such as vertical, horizontal and square available. Usage Environment




1. Medium 


304 Stainless Steel: Suitable for storing weakly acidic or alkaline media (pH 5-9), such as drinking water and industrial circulating water. 316 Stainless Steel: Suitable for storing seawater, chemical solutions, and other chlorine-containing corrosive media (pH 4-10). Do not store in strong acids, strong alkalis, or high-concentration organic solvents.


2. Installation 


Indoor: Dry and well-ventilated, with a flat concrete base and a maintenance space of ≥0.5m. Outdoor: Sunshade and rain protection installed; 316 stainless steel for coastal high-salt fog areas; Custom reinforced steel plates for high altitudes (>2000m).


3. Temperature 


Standard use: -20℃ to 80℃ for hot water storage / Extremely cold environments: Install insulation and take antifreeze measures.


4. Load-bearing capacity


Placed on a load-bearing base that meets the standards, large water tanks are equipped with reinforced concrete foundations; avoid areas prone to settlement and strong vibration.

Product Uses




1. Residential and commercial buildings 


Used for secondary water supply storage in high-rise residential buildings, and for storing domestic drinking water in hotels, hospitals, and schools. Made of food-grade 304 stainless steel to ensure water safety, the square modular structure is suitable for small spaces such as rooftops and basements.


2. Industrial production sector


For industrial circulating water storage and temporary storage of raw materials in the chemical, electronics, and metallurgical industries, the 316 stainless steel version can withstand chlorine-containing and weakly corrosive media; it can also be used with boiler systems to store softened water to prevent scaling from affecting equipment efficiency.


3. Fire protection engineering support

Product Operation Guide




1. Initial water injection 


Clean the tank → close the drain valve, open the inlet valve and vent valve → slowly fill the tank with water using an external water pump to 90% of the rated capacity → close the valve and let it stand for 2-4 hours to check for leaks.


2. Routine inspection 


Maintain water level between 50% and 90%; check for deformation of the tank body, weld cracks, and aging of sealing strips weekly; calibrate the automatic liquid level control device monthly.


3. Drainage cleaning 


Empty and flush out wastewater every 3-6 months to remove sediment; clean food/medical water tanks monthly; completely empty tanks during winter shutdown to prevent freezing.


4. Ancillary equipment (optional) 


Heat preservation and heat tracing: turn on at low temperature (5-10℃), turn off when heating up; Disinfection device: turn on the drinking water tank for 30-60 minutes daily.


5. Safety Precautions 


Climbing is prohibited; warning signs should be set up for maintenance and two people should operate the equipment; keep away from open flames.
